Exclamation How to Murder

I decided to create this thread to clear up any confusion on what qualifies a ride as being Murdered. Anyone who wants to add there two cents feel free but the basic attributes of a murdered out ride are simple.

Murdered out Ride:
Black paint with Low gloss (ie. satin/matte/flat black)
Black wheels with Low gloss (ie. satin/matte/flat black)
No Chrome whatsoever on the vehicle

Black on Black Ride:
Black Paint with High gloss (ie. factory paint, high gloss, highly reflective black)
Black wheels

I have included links below to pictures of rides that are "Murdered Out" and rides that are simple "Black on Black"

Murdered out Rides (Matte/Satin/Flatt Paint

Black on Black (Gloss Paint)

Your right I havnt posted pics yet...Im in Afghanistan and Ill be home on leave in 2 weeks..I will post pics then. Im honestly not trying to hate at all...Im just trying to say that originally "murdered out" did not include gloss black rides...I understand that the style has been adapted to include gloss rides. But this adaptation just reminds me of how peepz started slapping big wheels on a expedition and claiming they had a custom ride. Or when someone would paint a civic neon green and claim they had candy paint. Not the case! I know I wont win this battle because the majority of people on this forum and on the road have created the new standard and adapted the terminoligy to include gloss black rides due to the fact that they were unwilling to truly murder there shit because of whatever reasons. But I will still argue the point at shows and on the streets that a gloss black ride is not murdered. I dont know if I speak for the rest of the people on here who spent the money and took the time to do it right. But factory black gloss paint is not murder. I have seen a shit load of great looking blacked out rides on here and I love that look also, its not hate just debate.

Debate is good, but bashin on others topics about "your ride isnt this/that" isnt cool. Its good to start your own with your opinion. If you direct that expedition comment at me fine your entitled to your opinon. My ride isnt Murdered Out cause when I started on my ride is was color matched not murdered out. Thats why my ride is BBB- Black Black on Black... Black exterior, Black Wheels & Black interior.

The MO title didnt come into effect until a couple years back if that.... The name of the forum due to the owner of the forum is titled what its titled. Members such as myself were invited and asked to join. I dont care about the title MO is/isnt it doesnt make my world go round. If you base your day on correcting here or at shows is up to you, good luck.

The comment was not directed toward you. But I do see now that you have Expedition. I was just giving an example of how people attempt to broaden definitions so that there cars can be included in the next trend. Meanwhile peepz are spending mad dough on candy paint/murder; and all their money and effort to achieve the standard for a style are being underminded by the people trying to generalize.

Im not saying the title MO has been around for centuries. The original style had no name...Hot Rodders used this paint style because at its most basic level (flatt black) was cheap and easy to apply due to the fact that no clearcoat was needed...Since this time paint companies have developed flattening agents and low gloss clear coats that allow the similar flatt/matt look but also keep the vehicle protected. The first time I remember seeing the style being somewhat revived was on Jesse James show West Coast Choppers. The next was on Rob Dyrdek's show Rob & Bigg in which he drove a Murdered Out Tahoe. This is the earliest time I heard the term as he spoke of his "Murdered Out" Tahoe which is in between a matte black and flat black.

I dont base my day on any such thing but I will not have my efforts to meet the standard underminded by black on black whips.

I do believe that seperating this site into a Black on Black section and Murered Out section will increase traffic. As of today very few people actually know what the term murdered out means and are very unlikely to stumble up this on site during a google search.

Default Murdered Not?

HAHAHA! i dont quite understand the purpose of this thread, but it is pretty amusing. i wouldnt say the guy is hating but it does raise the question, "why?" why even start the debate. all these cars no matter how novice or perfect are on here to share looks (the range rover and dee dub's tahoe are murdered in my opinion but i guess by your wikepedia-style definiton i guess not) anyhow, i will be the first to say "my truck is not murdered-out and i apologize for any misconceptions of the murdered-out definition i so falsely used and for misleading poor innocent victims who were attempting to jump on this bandwagon we call murdered out! LOL.

so to the person who started the thread, what if my paint is so dirty (since i don't wash the truck often) that its flat then is it worthy?

do they make flat tint???????

my truck was black but i repainted it Jet black to give it the appeal i was going for Matte Black is something you can pull off better on exotic cars when you start adding flat black to everyday cars it just looks like its primer and makes it look like it is under contruction...murdered is just a term used to describe a new style in the automotive world there is no rules/guidlines hahhhahahahah

Your an idiot! The only reason that a murdered out ride (matte/flatt) looks like primer is because its been painted with a can of paint from fucking walmart. The reason "exotic" cars look better in your opinion is because the paint has been done professionally at a body shop as opposed to your backyard. The car doesnt have to be "exotic" for professionally done murder to look good...But if your rollin around in a Camry I guess your right it would look like its under construction. Even then I give the spay can dudes more respect that you people trying to generalize. You just reject the guidelines/standards because your afraid...Stay Glossy Girl!

hahah thats funny "Idiot" I travel around the world to many shows producing a dvd and your trying to explain something automotive to me..... YEAH it looks like primer and have you ever heard of a black sealer? not everyone uses spray cans and if you apply it correctly it comes out very nice just like the hot rod guys have been doing for a very long time....Sherwin Williams even makes a primer that has a dull clear look to it.....So then i guess alot of guys at shows would not longer be in the "UNDER CONSTRUCTION CLASS" hahha but whatever you say i guess my shit falls short of "your" classification and that makes me a "girl"... and yeah i did my shit gloss cause i didnt want it to look like shit!! And what with "rejecting the Guidlines" hhahaha are you serious????......The flat black look AKA Primer black originated because it was cheap and easy and coming from a car scene that has lot of hot rod undercontruction vehicles so i guess i will just "generalize" and keep it gloosssy
